Does anyone want to guess how points are in this bag???
OK! I rode the bike 5 miles on Monday; 10 miles on both Tuesday and Wednesday; and 5 miles today (Thursday). Want to get in 10 miles a day but somedays are better than others. Gotta work on it!
So, remember in my last post I said my workout’s would begin on Sunday? Well, they began today…on Tuesday…therefore, two days of slacking in my life. Sunday was filled with sleeping and recovering from my 13 hour (thanks to the time change) shift, meeting with Angela and Sean, and a Hannah Montana episode watching party with Luke. Monday was filled with IMAX 3D, bike rides, and more hanging with Luke and meeting up with Angela and Livi. I told myself I would go workout when I got home last night, but the box of Reese’s Peanut Butter cookies that came home with me won, and I was in no shape to go workout.
Thus, this afternoon when I woke up after a glorious 15 hours of sleep, I headed straight to the gym…no email, no TV, no food…just gym. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical thanks to the entertainment from the Millionaire Matchmaker, and some weights.
I am now mentally preparing myself for waking up at 3pm these next two days before I go into work. Maybe the fact that I will see sunshine if I wake up at 3 will be motivation enough to go workout. Keep the posts coming…I think this is the most honest I have ever been about my slacker tendencies.
Well, that 10 mile run that I said I was going to do… never happened. I was a HUGE slacker yesterday and didn’t do anything besides go to breakfast with Jeff, eat too much, and watch TV all day.
So, this morning I woke up and went running. I ran 5 miles again. It wasn’t too bad. I am planning on running every day this week besides Friday and Saturday.
Today’s workout was a success. Normally, I wake up at 4:45 am when I am working out before school. Today, I was able to sleep until 5:30 as it was a work day at school and we only had one child to get ready this morning. I cheerily popped out of bed at 5:30 and went over to Snap. I had planned on running 2 miles, but the treadmill that I wanted was broken, so it threw me off of my game for a few seconds. I decided instead to ride the bike. Instead of doing the interval program like I normally do, I set the bike to “fat burn”. This program has no lower level intervals to give the rider a break every couple of minutes like the interval program does. I rode the bike for 30 minutes and only thought about stopping once. The first 15 minutes were the hardest. It helped that Snap keeps a large supply of trashy celebrity magazines to read while I am on the bike. It felt good to workout after two weeks and my plan for tomorrow is to work out right after school (hopefully it will involve running a couple of miles.)
I would like to apologize to everyone for my husband’s previous post. The man has no shame. I promise that I will scrub and scour the cutting board seen in the picture with his belly as it looks like his belly is laying directly on the cutting board.
Let me tell you about Sunday…
We ate at Grimaldi’s. Yummy, yummy meatball pizza…
So then after we got home put the girl to bed and enjoyed the quite moments that can only be achieved when the boy is staying with someone else… I got out of bed and made me a meat sandwich. What is a meat sandwich you ask, I’ll explain.
First you start by frying bacon and toasting a small hogie bun.
Next you cut the bacon into smaller pieces and put something heavy on it to make the bacon flat…
I then put some mayo and Laughing cow cheese onto the buns.
So we are ready to add the other meats to our griddle. You can add whatever you find in your fridge. I used ham and bologna.
Notice that I have put white american cheese on the buns. I will then add shredded Colby Jack to the meat mixture for some cheesy goodness.
SO while this is going on we add pickles and avocado to this beautiful creation…
We finish by putting it all together and preparing for its presentation!
Let me tell you, the sandwich was wonderful. I did not bother to wake my wife and share any with her. He is a pic of my belly after the sandwich…
(there was a picture of my belly here but my wife made me take it out….)
I found some sausage in the fridge this morning that I wish I would have cut up and added to the sandwich…
The moral of this fine fine meat sandwich story is that I am going to try to include in my daily workout log my end of day points total from Weight Watchers. I feel that it will help to stay focused.
post script note… I would point out that while I made my sammii with no shirt on, I was wearing undewear. LIFERULE: Never fry bacon naked!!!
I believe I’m skipping my workout today. I hate to seem all woo-woo but I sucked down 2 bottles of air in a couple of minutes. Fat guys shouldn’t fight fire.
So I have been thinking a little bit harder about some of my achievable goals, and I have one more. My goal is to wake up before work and go workout. That will mean waking up at 3:30 on days that I work to be able to get a decent workout in. This will be tough, but now that I have told the whole world my goal, perhaps I will actually be able to stick to my plan beginning tomorrow. Happy Saturday!
I’m sure you all are wondering why I chose a bunch of old geezers as the top picture. Well, let me tell you. There’s nothing worse than getting passed on the trail by a 75 year old man with better legs than you. I figure it might inspire us. If they can do it, so can we!
My run yesterday was a success. I did 5 miles instead of just 4.5 because I ventured off my normal path for a little while.
Today, I’m playing a flag football game, so that will be my workout.
Tomorrow… Oh gosh, I don’t know if I want to put this out here. I’m planning on 10 miles. We’ll see…
Now it’s my turn. So, I have honestly never had workout goals…they have always been directed at weight loss, thus, they typically involved workouts. Perhaps this is where I have been wrong the whole time. Therefore, I will try changing my direction with this new challenge. Although, maybe the ultimate motivation will be that the whole world has the potential to see this…scary.
Anyways, my ultimate goal it to be able to go play a game of softball without feeling like I am going to die, or go on a walk/run without feeling utterly exhausted at the end. In more measurable terms, I want to be able to jog a 5k without any problems, lift weights and feel the soreness the day after, not for a week, and finally fit more comfortably into my clothes/be forced to buy smaller clothes.
I want to be able to do this again 🙂
Welcome to the Ultimate Happe Challenge!
