I believe I’m skipping my workout today. I hate to seem all woo-woo but I sucked down 2 bottles of air in a couple of minutes. Fat guys shouldn’t fight fire.

I believe I’m skipping my workout today. I hate to seem all woo-woo but I sucked down 2 bottles of air in a couple of minutes. Fat guys shouldn’t fight fire.
So I have been thinking a little bit harder about some of my achievable goals, and I have one more. My goal is to wake up before work and go workout. That will mean waking up at 3:30 on days that I work to be able to get a decent workout in. This will be tough, but now that I have told the whole world my goal, perhaps I will actually be able to stick to my plan beginning tomorrow. Happy Saturday!
I’m sure you all are wondering why I chose a bunch of old geezers as the top picture. Well, let me tell you. There’s nothing worse than getting passed on the trail by a 75 year old man with better legs than you. I figure it might inspire us. If they can do it, so can we!
My run yesterday was a success. I did 5 miles instead of just 4.5 because I ventured off my normal path for a little while.
Today, I’m playing a flag football game, so that will be my workout.
Tomorrow… Oh gosh, I don’t know if I want to put this out here. I’m planning on 10 miles. We’ll see…
Now it’s my turn. So, I have honestly never had workout goals…they have always been directed at weight loss, thus, they typically involved workouts. Perhaps this is where I have been wrong the whole time. Therefore, I will try changing my direction with this new challenge. Although, maybe the ultimate motivation will be that the whole world has the potential to see this…scary.
Anyways, my ultimate goal it to be able to go play a game of softball without feeling like I am going to die, or go on a walk/run without feeling utterly exhausted at the end. In more measurable terms, I want to be able to jog a 5k without any problems, lift weights and feel the soreness the day after, not for a week, and finally fit more comfortably into my clothes/be forced to buy smaller clothes.
I want to be able to do this again đ
Welcome to the Ultimate Happe Challenge!
Looks like I am next to put my goals out there for all of the world to see (because you know the whole world is going to find out about this blog once Jane hears about it.) My goal is to run/bike the Austin Muddy Buddy in May. While I did complete the Dallas Muddy Buddy two weeks ago, I feel that it was more walk/pant/push my bike up a hill/pant again than it was run/bike. In order to make it to that goal, I am going to start working out again Monday morning. I have had a nice two week break from running and now it is time to get moving again. I will update Monday, but for now, I will enjoy the rest of my philly cheesesteak while I try to come up with some motivation.
11-4-10 1 mile treadmill; 15 minutes Elliptical
11-5-10 20 minutes Elliptical; 3/4 Mile Treadmill. It’s something you slugo’s!

11-7-10 Â Today I failed to workout. I slack, therefore I am.
11-8-10 30 minutes Elliptical– 37 points  + 2 oops!
11-9-10 16 Min TM=1 mile  10 Min Stationary bike.
11-10-10 Nada, Zilch, nothing… I slacked and ate bad!
Well, my first and more urgent goal is to finish the half-marathon next weekend without dying.
Second, I would like to finish the half-marathon on March in under 2:10. Yes. That is running 13.1 miles with an average pace of just under 10 minutes a mile.
I’m off to run 4.5 miles now. I’ll let you all know how it goes.
Here is a link to the Amsterdam Marathon. Â I made a vow that I would run the Half Marathon 1 year after I finished nursing school. Â That would be October 17, 2011.
