Meltdown

I’m back!  I started the Meltdown yesterday and it runs through August 2nd.  My goal is to lose about 15 pounds and I plan to post an update at least weekly to keep myself honest during the summer.  I am counting calories and starting to exercise again.  I know that some days will be harder than others and that I won’t eat perfectly everyday (I am not skipping Milwaukee Wiener just because I am on a diet), but I am going to aim to meet my calorie and exercise goals each day.  I am excited about the Meltdown because it will give me motivation to stay on track instead of eating whatever I want all summer long.  I’ll keep everyone updated on my progress!

250 Mile Summer

Hello Everyone, I have set a goal for myself. I will be running 250 mile from May 15th to August 22nd. That averages out to a little less than 20 miles a week. I’m going to start running regularly again to just get ready for this! Wooo

5K #2

I ran my second 5K on Saturday.  After a mix up about the starting time, Amy, Scott and I started about 20 minutes late.  I left my phone in the car, so don’t know how fast we ran, but I think we made pretty good time.  Amy and Scott may have been running slower than they normally do, but I could tell that I was running faster than my normal pace.  We all agreed that a 5K is a great start to a Saturday.  I hope to find more 5K’s to run to help keep my motivation up.  I have found that it is easier to get up at 5 AM knowing that I am training for something.  Hope everyone else is doing well in exercise-land.  Not sure anyone reads this anymore, but putting it out there is good for me.

Slackers!

I think it is pretty safe to say that we are all a bunch of slackers around here, as far as blogging goes anyways.  Stephanie ran another half-marathon last weekend, so she wins in the motivation department.  As for myself, I have recently gotten back into running.  I used to think that I would NEVER be a runner, but now that I am doing it on a regular basis, I can see how people become addicted to it.  I have found that I run best first thing in the morning, so I try to get up every morning that Sean is home and run before school.  This means that I am getting up pretty early, but that is ok because I actually enjoy running in the dark.  As my loving sisters have told me, I don’t have the best form.  While I probably don’t run like Phoebe anymore, I still enjoy running while there aren’t alot of people out and about.  I have decided that I am not going to set any specific goals for running, I am just going to run as often as possible for how ever long I want to that day.  A couple mornings this last week I almost hit three miles, but had to stop because it was time to get ready for work.  I am pretty proud of myself!

That is all that I have for now.  Hopefully someone updates this blog sometime in the next few months!

My New Year Resolution

I resolve to run two Muddy Buddies this year.   Austin and Dallas.  The Austin Muddy Buddy is split into two days to accommodate the crowd…  May 14th and 15th.  We will be in Austin the 14th for Stephanie’s graduation.  Any takers?

I’m Back

I’ve been avoiding this blog. As the semester ended I made more and more excuses not to work out. Well, I now have five weeks of zero excuses. I went running for the first time since the half-marathon on Saturday. I think that was motivation. I guess we will find out.

Slacker

Looks like I am ending the week still stuck on day 4 of working out.  Not quite sure what blew my motivation out the window this week, but here’s hoping I find it again very soon!

I am beginning to see a pattern…

So, I am really beginning to see a pattern in myself. Today is my first of three days…or you could say first of six in seven days 🙁 Anyways, I always manage to work out of my first day. After that first day though, I can’t get myself to work out. I guess in my mind it is my Monday, and of course I want to start my week off on a good note. I need to fix this.

Anyways…I introduced myself to Jillian Michaels today. I didn’t have time to go to the gym so instead of talking myself out of working out all together, I did the Shred. And it is kinda hard. But I did it…yay me. Good job everyone!!

Four

I convinced myself to get up this morning, even though I REALLY didn’t want to.  I took a break from the Shred over the weekend and my bed was very comfortable this morning.  I guess my brain was still half asleep this morning when I pressed “play” because I decided to do level 2.  It wasn’t as bad as I thought, but still quite hard.  I feel like a got a better workout this morning.  Not saying that the other ones weren’t good, but in level 2 there is more constant movement of the whole body instead of just working arms or legs at one time.

I am now doing the Shred solo as Sean quit on me.  Have a good week, everyone!

Three

I woke up on my own this morning since Sean was at work.  I deserve a big high-five for that because I wasn’t sure that I would be motivated enough to do it alone.  The workout today was the easiest and I am less sore than I have been for the last couple of days.  I guess my muscles finally surrendered to the large quantities of Perform that I was putting on them.  I even caught myself wondering at what point I move up to level two.  Whoa.

I had planned on writing a little more, but I hear a little girl who is going on less than a 30 minute nap today chattering to herself in her crib.  Guess a nap isn’t in her plans for today.
